After throwing out the levied 1.2 million dollar fine that FCC put on the show NYPD: BLUE for showing actress Charlotte Ross' bare butt, the U.S Second Circut Court just reiterated it decision on the Fox ruling against the FCC from airing curse words during the 2006 Billboard Music Awards. As a result to this ruling television networks now know that they can show half naked people and use any language they want, without having any repercussions. Steven Bocho says that it adds to the story line and makes it more interesting to the viewers.
I think that any self-respecting person would not show their naked body on television. There are way better ways to express one's self without cursing. Cursing just makes the person sound arrogant and to dumb to find the words to express themselves. For Steven Bocho to say that nudity adds to the story line, well it really doesn't. It just makes boys with raging hormones watch more. Every where girls look there is something to do with the female body and how it is "supposed" to look, unhealthily skinny, perfect hair and make up, and not a single flaw. Being allowed to curse and have nudity on television is just showing every other country in the world that we do not care what our image is and that we as a country our losing the modesty that our parents have distilled into us, like our grandparents into them. And for at what cost?
